Larkhill Primary School proudly joined in the BFBS Big Salute Day on 3 October, raising money and showing support for serving personnel, veterans and military families.

Pupils took part in a special ‘Dress Like a Service Person’ day, arriving at school in a variety of military-inspired outfits and uniforms generously loaned by parents and family members. The event was a fantastic success, with families coming together to raise an impressive £115 for the BFBS Big Salute campaign.

The school’s involvement was also recognised by BFBS Salisbury Plain, which thanked the Larkhill community on social media, saying:

“A huge thank you to the pupils and staff at Larkhill Primary School for raising money for the BFBS Big Salute today with a ‘Dress Like A Service Person’ Day!

Thanks also to the parents for lending their uniform and donating money for this amazing cause!”

Adding to the celebrations, Larkhill Primary School was featured on BFBS Radio, with a school representative interviewed by presenter Matt Gibbs about the day and the importance of supporting the campaign. The interview was broadcast as part of BFBS Salisbury Plain’s Big Salute Day coverage.

The BFBS Big Salute is an annual fundraising initiative that supports forces charities and organisations providing vital services to military communities around the world. As a school with strong connections to the armed forces community, Larkhill Primary School was proud to play its part in raising awareness and funds for such an important cause.

The school would like to thank all pupils, staff and families who took part and contributed, helping to make the day both memorable and meaningful.
