Larkhill Pupils Make History with Amazing Rock at the Rocks Performance

After months of preparation, over 200 pupils from across Larkhill Primary School finally took to the stage at Stonehenge for their historic Rock at the Rock performance, becoming the first school in the country to have ever performed a show at the World Heritage Site.

In a performance that lasted over 30 minutes, entirely written by the pupils themselves, with the help of Prime Theatre, our children put on a fantastic show.

The pupils told the story of the ancient monument and its place in our unique community. We celebrated our relationship with the monument, its power and meaning and its link to our military community.

So many people and organisations came together to make this amazing event happen, that we wouldn’t be able to name everyone! We’d like to give a big thank you to Prime Theatre for helping our pupils put the play together, and for hosting a number of enriching and fun workshops in school, English Heritage for opening up the world heritage site to our school, and working together with us throughout preparations.

We’d also like to thank The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust – Force for Change Programme for providing the necessary funding, and last but not least, all our pupils, parents, and staff for working so hard on writing the play, practising their lines, and making sure the event went ahead without a hitch!
