Last week, our Pupil Parliament had the honour of making a very special visit to Stonehenge.
Specially chosen to make the trip, children from the parliament got to meet and be photographed with Gnomus, the giant caretaker of the Earth!
Gnomus is a giant puppet created by Puppets with Guts who told stories exploring conservation to a captive audience of pupils. Our Pupil Parliament were very lucky to meet Gnomus in advance of his stay at Stonehenge, which will be open to the public at the end of April. We’d like to thank English Heritage and especially Puppets with Guts for putting on a fantastic performance!

Later this year, pupils from across the school will be taking part in a spectacular and groundbreaking theatre production at Stonehenge itself. We’re currently hosting regular workshops with Prime Theatre UK in the school to prepare, and really get our pupils’ imaginations firing. You can find out more about this in our introductory school news post.
Our Pupil Parliament is made up of children elected from each class group by their peers. Children from the parliament are elected to represent different areas of the school e.g. Sport or the Environment, just like an MP! Members are expected to demonstrate the highest standard of behaviour and attitude in and out of school, in order to act as role models to other children.
