Welcome to Owls Class Page

Spring Term 2 2018

Our new topic for Term 4 is 'So You Want To Be A Pirate?' We will be focusing on many aspects of Geography and History. In English, we will be writing persuasively and learning lots about pirates through a range of Guided Reading activities. In Maths, we will be aiming to secure our knowledge and understanding of co-ordinates, the properties of shapes, problem-solving, dividing numbers by 10 and 100, and decimals. Science will be fun as we look at some aspects of magnetism and sound. Maps, atlases and laptops will be required for teaching 'Our Wonderful World' and 'The Seven Seas' in Geography. In Art, we will be learning various types of stitch as we will be doing sewing. In R.E. we will be learning about Christianity and the importance of Easter to Christians around the world.

Mrs Grafton will continue to teach Owls Class on Tuesday mornings, teaching the children French and Science.

Please make sure that your child has their proper P.E. kit as every week this term we will be swimming on Wednesdays and doing outdoor P.E. on Fridays.

Thank you for continuing to support your child and the school in all aspects of their learning. Remember that some homework is set every Monday and is to be returned to school by Friday each week. How are you getting on with the list of 100 recommended books that your child should have read through Year 3 and Year 4. How many has your child read now? The importance of reading for pleasure, for education and in time, work should never be underestimated. Once a reader, always a reader in my opinion.

Best Wishes,

Mr Almond            Owls Class Teacher (Year 4)
