Her Majesty the Queen Visits Larkhill
The school was lucky enough to go and see the Queen when she visited Larkhill recently. Her Royal Highness, Captain-General of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, formally opened the new regimental home during a visit to the Royal Artillery Barracks. The children then returned to school to celebrate with a picnic style lunch. A few days later we received an official letter from Windsor Castle thanking the children for their lovely commemorative book they made for the Queen.
Larkhill Primary has triple cause to Celebrate!
As well as achieving a Good-outstanding result in our December Ofsted report, we have been informed this week that we have achieved our Healthy Schools status. This has been a result of alot of hard work especially by Mrs Mousley who co-ordinated the whole project.
In addition to this we have maintained our Sports Activemark for the fifth year in succession. Thank you to Mrs Parks our PE co-ordinator.
Donation to Naomi House
The school managed to raise £150 for Naomi House this Christmas. We raised this from our Christmas Production of 'The Grumpy Sheep' and by staff making a donation instead of sending Christmas cards.

Flora Cooking With Schools
Thank you to all those who donated their Flora Cooking with Schools vouchers. We managed to collect 151 vouchers which equated to £30.20 worth of equipment. The scheme starts again in March 2009.
Morrisons Lets Grow
The school has been collecting the Morrisons Lets Grow vouchers in exchange for gardening equipment and seeds and thanks to kind parents we were successful in collecting over 600 vouchers. The Gardening Club have now written their wish list and materials should be received in the New Year.
Bag2School Clothes Collection
In November the PTA organised a used clothes collection through Bag2School. We collected 340 kilos which raised £102 for school funds. Thank you to all those who made a donation. A second collection has been booked for 13th May so please save your used clothes, linen, bags and belts until then.
Flying Gunners Motorbike Display team
The whole school was recently invited to watch the Flying Gunners motorbike display team who are based in Larkhill. Everyone enjoyed watching the entertainment, especially the gorilla riding a motorbike!
Road Safety
Mr Sim, from Wiltshire County Council Road Safety, worked with various groups of children this month and taught them the correct way to cross roads and how best to stay safe.
Bird and Bat Boxes
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust visited the school recently and supported the children in building bird and bat boxes and a bench for the school grounds. The children designed some animal motifs to mount on the back of the bench and was varnished by parent helpers.
